Het mosselkreeftje (Ostracoda) is een onomstotelijk bewijs dat we hier te maken hebben met een degelijk en stevig kunstwerk. Kunst bevolkt door dit type indicator-organisme blijkt op de lange termijn zeer waardevast, maar alleen in combinatie met de juiste overige indicatorsoorten. In dit geval vonden we een prachtige Closterium (sieralg) en daaruit kunnen we concluderen dat de kwaliteit van dit kunstwerk zeer optimaal is. Bij een volgende keer toch maar even goed nadenken voordat we iets dergelijks aan de composthoop toevertrouwen!

The mussel shrimp (Ostracoda) provides conclusive evidence that we are dealing with a solid and sturdy work of art. Art inhabited by this type of indicator organisms turns out to be stable in value on the long term. But only in combination with the other appropriate indicator species. In this case we came across a beautiful Closterium (desmid) which lead to the conclusion that the quality of this artwork is optimal. Next time we better count to ten before committing a work like this to the compost bin!
